1. Use your Visit Energies wisely. You only have 5 Energy each time you visit a neighbour. Use it to mine your neighbours' ores. If your neighbour only has 2 ore mines, collect the 2 mines and return back home. Then visit your neighbour again. You should be able to collect from the 2 mines again. Repeat until done. You should be able to get at least 10 ores.
2. Check in on whether your neighbours are selling their ores. Click the "My Neighbours" tab at the top for easy viewing. Personally my neighbours do not sell often. Do not expect friends who just started playing to be selling most of their ores as they need it for themselves.
3. Collect the rewards that your friends have gotten and posted on the Facebook walls. They usually drop 10 Ores (but usually it's coins or wood or oil).
4. Invade your neighbours. You cannot declare neutrality at the World Embassy for around 5 hours after an invasion so you do run the risk of being attacked. Focus on the area with the most concentrated number of ore mines in order to maximise the number of ores you get.
After a win, you get the ores.
Now the best part of this is not just it. You can continue collecting the same number of loot after 3 hours (or more). Just hit the "Collect" button 3 hours later, and the same loot will pop up. This will continue until your friend logs into their game. So it could be a better idea to invade neighbours who are less active or have been neglecting their game.
